Security & Integrity

A journey built on absolute trust.

The Faithful Tourist is more than a platform — it is a sanctuary. We have crafted a verification process as intentional as the paths you walk.

Our Three Pillars of Safety

Verified Identity

We verify every user through email confirmation, and are building ID verification and background checks so every host and traveler is exactly who they claim to be.

The Community Covenant

An ethical agreement upheld by all members, mandating respect, transparency, and mutual care. Violations result in account review and potential removal.

Privacy by Design

Your journey is your own. We never monetize your data with third parties, and all sensitive communication stays within the platform.

The Community Covenant

“We walk together, yet in reverence of each other’s inner silence.”

01

Radical Presence

Members agree to be fully present during volunteer stays. We honor the physical space and the spiritual gravity of each church community.

02

Sanctity of Story

What is shared in a host community stays there. We maintain strict policies against unauthorized sharing of member interactions and private details.

03

Intentional Stewardship

Every member is a guardian of the network. Reporting concerns is not an act of policing, but an act of protection for the community we share.

“Safety is not the absence of risk, but the presence of trust. Here, we build that trust through transparency and shared commitment.”

Tips for Travelers

Share Your Itinerary

Always let a trusted friend or family member know where you are staying and your travel plans.

Trust Your Instincts

If something feels off, trust your gut. You can always reach out to our support team or leave a stay early.

Communicate Expectations

Before arriving, clarify expectations about tasks, schedule, accommodation, and house rules.

Keep Emergency Contacts Handy

Save local emergency numbers and the church's contact info before you arrive.

Check Verification Badges

Look for verified badges on church profiles before applying. Verified churches have been through our trust process.

Protect Your Privacy

Never share financial information, passwords, or overly personal details through the platform messaging.

Tips for Churches

Verify Your Guests

Review traveler profiles carefully. Check their skills, reviews, and verification status before accepting applications.

Set Clear Boundaries

Clearly communicate house rules, working hours, expectations, and any policies before the traveler arrives.

Provide Emergency Contacts

Share local emergency contacts, nearest hospital information, and a direct church contact number.

Ensure Safe Accommodation

Provide clean, safe, and secure accommodation. Ensure locks work, smoke detectors are functional, and exits are clear.

Designate a Point Person

Assign a church member as the primary contact for the traveler during their stay.

How to Report Concerns

Report a User or Listing

You can report any listing, church profile, or traveler profile by clicking the Report button found on every profile and listing page.

When reporting, you will be asked to:

  1. Select a reason for your report
  2. Provide additional details (optional but helpful)
  3. Submit the report for our safety team to review

All reports are confidential. The reported user will not know who filed the report.

Host Protection Insurance

We are working on a comprehensive insurance program to protect both churches and travelers during volunteer stays. This will cover property damage, liability, and personal belongings.
